The district administration on Thursday made a school vacate panchayat land, which was allegedly included in its boundary through illegal means. The Heritage Public School is situated in Sector 62, near Ullawas village.

Deputy Commissioner P C Meena issued orders in this regard to the officials concerned after the issue was brought to his notice.

On December 7, the school was served a notice under Section 24 (1) of Haryana Panchayati Raj Act-1994, asking it to vacate the land within a week. However, the school did not respond to the notice. Consequently, a demolition squad razed the boundary wall of the school and handed the land over to the Ullawas village panchayat.

Meena said: “It is sad to find that even educational institutions are indulging in illegal activities such as encroachment.”
