Collectors Directed to identify Homestead Less Families
Bhubaneswar, 25th June 2011
The Collector of all districts have been directed to identify homestead less families through fresh survey. The direction has been given over a video conferencing held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sri Bijaya Kumar Patnaik in the secretariat conference hall today.
Collectors have been asked to complete the work within a month. They have also been directed to provide patta to the families who have been living in houses constructed over Gramkanthparambhok abadi land, khasmahal and nazul land.
Secretary Revenue & Disaster management Sri Raj Kumar Sharma has urged upon the Collectors not allow any new encroachment in the name of the place of worship and settle all earlier encroachment cases relating to such places in accordance with law as per the directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court. Directions have also been given to evict the encroachments over cremation ground, gochra, land meant for common use.
Viewing irrigation projects as a priority area, Sri Sharma has asked the collectors to engage retired Amins and R.I.’s on contractual basis for expediting the land acquisition for major and medium irrigation projects going on in the state. Among others secretary Water Resources Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and Engineers of Irrigation projects participated in video conference.
